I lock the majority of my journal entries because I usually rant about my personal life and other stuff that others might not be interested.
I always hate calling in sick in the morning. I feel guilty telling my boss that I cannot be there to do my job for the day, even though (for the majority of the time) I am physically incapable of doing so. It also didn't help that I went to bed at 2am in the morning...thanks to my clogged up nose that made it impossible for me to fall asleep at night. Now that I am awake, I can't fall back asleep >.< no point either since the medicenter opens at 9 and I want to line-up before it opens to avoid waiting.
I found out that I absolutely suck at expressing myself when I am upset or frustrated. Maybe because I don't like being such a "woman" and getting mad at small things. I am upset because I have been sick since Friday but Bryan didn't make much of an effort to check up on my well being. I know I am a grown adult and I am capable of taking care of myself without him babysitting me, but it would be nice that he could at least take initiative and ask me how I was feeling. The only time he would ask me is after I text him superficial crap like "how are you today?" or "how's work?". His response would always be predictable and shallow like "aww" or "get better soon"...I kinda expected a little more conversation than that. Good thing I called in sick today...don't want to see him today. He is flying to rainbow for the week on Tuesday so I don't have to see him. Good.
I also behave very much like a "woman" because I want him to figure out on his own why I am upset. I expect more from him, and at this point he should be able to pick up cues that one word responses from me in text is not OK.

Why is it that whenever I wear my nice black skorts, it will most definitely be a cold, rainy day? I should stop judging the weather next day without actually looking at the weather forecast. I should know that >.<
Work will probably never slow down for me. Depletion reviews ended in April and now I am stressing over budgets. Deadline for forecasting all my production budgets is on May 23. I spent one whole day doing one pool....still have about 13 more to do. Except I don't have 13 full days to do it...which will call for multiple late nights. Plus on top of that I have the pre-vacation rush to get everything else done so I can enjoy San Fran/LA fully by the end of the month. *sighs* engineering didn't really teach me much about time management and managing multiple deadlines...just made me realize that all this craziness and real life stress actually happen outside of school.
On Monday I took my dad to the hospital for his day surgery. Inguinal hernia repair surgery sounds nasty but he is doing super well so I hope this is the last time. He deserves to rest and relax for all the hard labour he puts into his crappy warehousing job. I think he should retire soon from that job.
This coming weekend I have mother's day brunch to look forward to. Going to banff springs for the best brunch ever!! I'll also be making some traditional vanilla and buttercream cupcakes so hopefully those will turn out well.

I guess now that I finally made it out with a decently (well kinda more than decently) awesome job, life is actually good. I am feeling myself becoming more and more like a competent engineer that I pictured myself to be so long ago. It feels good to be in rhythm with life again and just getting into the normal daily routine.
Did I mention how much I love my job? At first I never gave much thought into what a reservoir engineer means...to me it seems like an easy way to get my foot in the door. But after a couple of weeks, this is seriously everything I wanted. It has the perfect mix of technicality and applications of theory in order to do my job well. I feel like I actually didn't waste my education on something that I will never have to use outside in real life. I feel important and with this job I feel like I am taken seriously. It is very hard to explain this satisfaction...it's just something I have never felt before.
Today I have worked for about 10 hours straight trying to get my depletion reviews in place for Wednesday and Thursday. The stress in making these presentations remind me of school so much that I get a high from the workload. It's really quite creepily awesome that I love/hate school so much. After work I went to Koto sushi lounge for dinner and it was a real treat! The sashimi was perfect, the sauce with the ika geso was amazing, and most delicious of all was their shrimp wasabi aioli roll (or whatever fancy name it was). Although Bryan and I have both had ok experience with Koto, we were super impressed with how good it is! So definitely worth it!
In the next few weeks, I will die from over work because of depletion review season. When I come out of it alive, let's just hope that I am a better engineer.
May is so far booked full of events. Well first off at the end of April, there is Karman's stagette. My first stagette!! It will be epic I'm sure. Then I have mother's day brunch in banff. Then the week after is karman's big wedding..and then after, it's San Fran with my favorite person. I am super excited for May! I just hope I am alive and healthy after April.

1. YESSTYLE Canada
I'm sure anyone who knows me well knows that almost 50% of my wardrobe are clothes from YesStyle. On my free time at school, I am always browsing around the YesStyle list of bestsellers and adding a ridiculous amount of clothes to my shopping cart (affording them is a whole different question lol). There just never seems to be a shortage of amazing styles in there! And trust me, it gets addicting as you continue looking through a brand of clothes where you actually want to own everything they have. Some of my best sweaters and cutest skirts were all purchased from here. Oh, and did I mention the cocktail dresses! BEAUTIFUL dresses for about $40-50!! I bought three =P
( My favourite party dressesCollapse )
So far, I have made seven orders with them since 2009. For each order, I must buy over $150 dollars in order to qualify for their free express shipping to Canada. This pretty much sums up how much I have actually spent on this store...*sighs* BUT, the plus side is that their clothes are quite relatively cheap if you choose from the right brands! The Hong Kong brand 59 Seconds, for instance, has the most amazing selection that I have ever come across! They use this super cute and tall model for all of their clothes and it almost makes you skeptical how everything can look so beautiful on this girl. Then maybe, MAYBE it will look beautiful on me too! Bahahaha *adds items to shopping cart*
Ah, my portal to all Hong Kong entertainment news. I visit this website at least once a day because they have all the juiciest and latest gossip. I was seriously in love with this website when I first discovered it, and spent hours reading on all the entertainment news. There's so much that I didn't know!! The best thing about this site is that it is all in English! This sure beats occasionally listening to the Chinese radio or watching those gossip shows on Chinese TV.
This is definitely one of my favourite humour website of all time. They even have an iPhone reader app for our convenience! I learned so much from reading articles on this site, and I have to give credit to this site for all the useless and random knowledge that I manage to pull out of my ass when the situation calls for it. The best articles are usually the ones that has countdown lists such as "14 'Luxury' Sex Toys for the Extremely Rich and Creepy" or "6 Terrifying Things Nobody Tells You About Donating Sperm." You will never see the world the same way after reading some of these informative and extremely hilarious articles.
This used to be my favourite place to go for all Asian entertainment news (until JayneStars came along) but still, this is the best place I have found so far for all Asian media. This is the place where I get all of my HK dramas and also recently, the only place I could find that has a decent list of Asian music. Seriously, this place has EVERYTHING if you are looking for TVB dramas. EVERYTHING! It is a lot more reliable to download from here too rather than finding really sketchy torrents from elsewhere. Only downside is that they are direct downloads so it's really quite a hassle to do multiple downloads. I am so sad that most of the other forums that I used to visit are slowly shutting down. I sure hope this one stays alive forever!
5. I Am Bored
I love how most of my favourite websites to visit are these bored/entertainment ones. This one has sooooo much content that I don't even know where to begin. I can literally spend hours going through all the posts and they range from the most viral youtube videos to the most disturbing pictures/videos on the net. This is the place where I familiarize myself to those crazy internet memes or things that easily go viral over the internet. It is also amusing to see what our society has become with all the stupidity that is being posted there.

With that said, this entry will be updated regularly (hopefully everyday) so that I can put my time and progress into perspective.

Ahhhhh and yet again, I am dying with school work! My final tissue engineering presentation is tomorrow (technically today) and.....I'm not even done my research. >___< It is 2:07 am!! *sighs* I'm aiming to get it done in the next 45 minutes so I can at least start studying for my quiz.....a 423 quiz. I've been failing miserably in that class in literally everything. I'm probably standing at a D+ in that class right now....if i fail this quiz again (which is quite probable) i might as well just fail this class all together. (But if I get 100% on the final....maybe I can bump it back up to an A-? Ok i'm being just a bit too ambitious here...I'll take a B. I swear....B is all i want.)
Random fangirling moment of the night....BWAHAHAHA w-inds. is collaborating with Big Bang!!! Ohohohoho didn't expect it to be a w-inds fangirling moment, did you? I'm just really excited about this because I LOVE BIG BANG!! (Just for clarifications, i'm not talking about the Big Bang Theory....i love that too, but that's a sitcom. I'm talking about the Korean band Big Bang) I'm sure I still love w-inds....although the love died down tremendously ever since high school.
I had a whole bunch of Jelly Bellies today, thanks to Tia! She's such a sweet person, making everyone little easter treats even though she's getting bombarded with school work. I have established that my favourite flavour so far is Lemon Lime and the Toasted Marshmellow (yes, i googled the flavours cause I was too paranoid with what i was putting in my mouth). But mind you, I still have quite a bit of Jelly Bellies left so I'm pretty excited to try them out tomorrow!
OK back to work i go!! Teeehehehe and before i go....HAPPY BIRTHDAY YAMAPI!!! Haha so i didn't miss his birthday after all! ^__^ Oooohhh my lovely Pipi is all grown up now! (but he really needs so do some work with his new hair...ughhh so horrible)
Dad: Help me figure out something on the computer.
Me: Are you sure it's not one of those things that you've asked me thirty times already?
Dad: No, this time it's new.
Me: K fine. Show me what it is.
Dad: I have a bunch of pictures in this folder that I want delete. How do I do that?
Me: *rolls eyes* I've taught you how to delete pictures like fifty times. You drag and drop them onto the recycling bin.
Dad: But I've never seen this icon here before. It's not a picture and I want to delete it. Can I drag it in the bin too?
Dad: But it's not a picture.
Me: I don't care. Throw whatever you want in the recycling bin.
Dad: So how do I delete everything?
Me: Like how you usually delete everything. Select them all and drag them to the recycling bin.
Dad: Ok I see. *selects everything* OH wait. There's this folder here. Do I select it too?
Me: Do you want to delete it?
Me: Then select it.
Dad: This is confusing.
Me: (Cause you are retarded)
